27 November 2019 – Tate & Lyle PLC (Tate & Lyle), a global provider of food and beverage ingredients and solutions, will be showcasing some new additions to its growing stevia platform at the upcoming Food Ingredients Europe show in Paris (3-5 December).

Healthier, great tasting solutions, helping manufacturers meet the needs of European consumers

Visitors to Stand 6C12 at the Parc des Expositions will be able to sample products made with Tate & Lyle’s portfolio of stevia-based ingredients, developed in partnership with Sweet Green Fields, including Zolesse™ Natural Flavour.

Zolesse™ is labelled as a natural flavour and has been developed to deliver a clean taste profile in carbonated soft drinks and flavoured waters, building on Steviol Glycosides’ taste modulation properties. It will be available to sample at the show in a cranberry and elderflower water and an orange-flavoured carbonated drink.

This newest addition will join the existing portfolio of stevia solutions, which has been specifically designed to boost taste profiles and lower cost-in-use across a range of product categories, including hot and cold beverages, dairy products and confectionery.

Olivier Kutz, Category Manager for beverages, bakery and confectionery at Tate & Lyle, said: “We are seeing an increasing appeal among consumers for clean-label products so it’s important for us to offer solutions that will help manufacturers to meet this demand, while also offering great taste.

“Zolesse™ Natural Flavour will enable us to help manufacturers meet ever evolving consumer needs, at an optimised cost. Tasting is believing, so we encourage visitors to come to our stand and try prototypes made with this latest addition to our toolbox of stevia solutions for themselves.”

Visitors will also be able to sample a number of prototypes that demonstrate how Tate & Lyle and Sweet Green Fields’ range of stevia sweeteners combined with Tate & Lyle’s fibre and texturising solutions can help manufacturers to tap into the health and wellness trend. This will include a low fat and sugar reduced chocolate dessert with OPTIMIZER™ Stevia™ 3.10 and a sugar-reduced ketchup, made with OPTIMIZER™ Stevia 3.10, PROMITOR® Soluble Fibre and HAMULSION® Stabiliser System.

Solutions for fruit preparation in dairy

This year, Tate & Lyle experts will also be on hand to advise manufacturers on how stevia sweeteners can be used to create sugar reduced fruit-based and flavoured dairy yogurts and how to formulate no added sugar dairy beverages or dairy alternative products.

A range of prototypes will be available to try at the booth showcasing these applications, including a 35% sugar reduced strawberry yoghurt with INTESSE Stevia™ 2.0 and a sugar reduced apricot fermented coconut dessert with INTESSE Stevia™ 2.0 and HAMULSION® Stabiliser System.

Tate & Lyle offers a broad portfolio of stevia sweeteners to address different needs of dairy customers and dairy alternative players. Sweet Green Fields, one of the largest privately held, fully integrated global stevia ingredient companies, has a broad portfolio of stevia solutions which it has augmented this year with the launch of Zolesse™, OPTIMIZER Stevia™ 4.10 and INTESSE® Stevia 2.0.

Carolin Hackenberg, Category Manager for dairy at Tate & Lyle, said: “These stevia sweeteners provide manufacturers with more solutions to deliver cost-efficient sugar and calorie reductions across their product ranges, meeting growing consumer demand for great tasting, plant-based products that help consumers to reduce their calorie intake. Consumers are on the lookout for dairy products with less sugar and fewer calories, and our innovative stevia sweetener portfolio can help manufacturers meet this demand.”
