As a global company with colleagues and facilities in over 30 countries, we embrace the responsibility we hold in building thriving communities. We see this role of working side-by-side for good as an essential part of how we live our purpose of Improving Lives for Generations.
And, in this time of great uncertainty and change, it has never been more important for us to answer the call from those who need us in the places we call home.
That’s why in early April, we announced a donation to support food banks in our local areas, in delivering around 500,000 emergency meals across the COVID-19 (coronavirus) Crisis.
Supporting in good times and bad
In many cases, we’ve worked alongside these food bank partners for years, and their smiling faces have warmly welcomed our colleagues for volunteer shifts, mobile pantries and food drives.
Standing with them now as they rise to meet the hunger need, especially of the most vulnerable, in unprecedented times is a point of pride for us, and we’ll continue to do what we can to support them as we work to recover and rebuild together.
‘Thank yous’ that make a difference
We have received some wonderful ‘thank you’ notes from our partners. These kind words are a sobering reminder of the work ahead of us, but we also take them as a nod to our shared priority of growing stronger and healthier communities now and for the future:

In doing so, you support us, especially our many volunteers, and give us the confidence and courage to successfully overcome this crisis.

What a wonderful surprise! Thank you! I just came in from the drive thru, three quarters of the families we saw today are new to the charitable food network and we are seeing between 700-500 families in two hours. This support will really go a long way!
Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to serve your community during this unprecedented time. We fed 3,200 families yesterday with a drive through pantry. There wasn’t anyone at the food bank that expected that kind of turn out.
