One of our global customers, a leader in the sparkling beverages market, wanted to create low-sugar versions for multiple regional brands in Latin America. Following the introduction of stricter sugar regulations in various countries within the region, the customer wanted to create a low-calorie, low-sugar product – while retaining the taste and mouthfeel that consumers know and love.
The fast pace of sugar tax laws, meant their R&D teams needed our help and expertise with local ingredients and legislation to produce quickly winning solutions that also remained on budget – in terms of delivery time and cost objectives.
Our SPLENDA® Sucralose offered the perfect solution. Its excellent taste profile can be used in low-pH formulas without stability concerns. It was the sweetener of choice - with a taste profile that is very similar to sugar and it maintains its sweetness over a long shelf life, unlike some other no-calorie sweeteners.
